A story of a young black athlete raised in Greenville, Texas, in the 1960s. Born John Doe, he remained nameless until his parents, Clyde and Bertha Simmons, adopted him with the given name Ricky C. Simmons. Blessed with tremendous talent that led him to everything from state championships to national championships only to find himself just one play too short.
